A Transfer with Memory: Collaboration between the Endesa Foundation and the Escucha City Council

We are proud to have actively participated in a project that combines industrial heritage, the history of energy and mining, and the enhancement of collector’s pieces with a great symbolic charge. In collaboration with the Endesa Foundation and the Escucha City Council (Escucha Mining Museum) we have carried out the transfer of various historic vehicles and collector’s pieces belonging to the mining world and Endesa’s past as an electricity supplier.

Our role has been that of a company specialising in transport logistics of rolling heritage, taking care of both the previous preparation and the loading and transfer, always with technical rigour and respect for the history that these pieces represent.

About the Endesa Foundation

The Endesa Foundation was founded in 1998 as an expression of Endesa’s social commitment to respond to the needs of the environment in which it carries out its activities and thus contribute to the development of society.
Every day it works to promote a fair and sustainable energy transition, placing people and well-being at the centre, through social, educational and environmental projects, contributing to human, social and environmental development in a lasting way.

This project, in particular, is part of its Culture area and is part of one of the initiatives carried out by Endesa’s Historical Fund, whose purpose is to value the company’s historical and cultural legacy; a legacy that connects mining, energy and industrial mobility from a past that deserves to live on.

About the Mining Museum of Escucha

Located in the town of Escucha (Teruel, Aragon), the Escucha Mining Museum is installed inside the old “Se Verá” coal mine, an authentic exploitation that allows visitors a unique experience: enter royal galleries, descend in wagons, and learn about the hard work of mining.

This museum is presented not only as an exhibition place, but as a living testimony of the industrial past of the Cuencas Mineras region. He has recently promoted new exhibitions on energy transition, industrial heritage and the challenges of the territory.

Vintage SUV from the ENHER companyOur contribution to the project

The commission consisted of moving various historic vehicles and collector’s pieces that will be on deposit or loan for future exhibition. Among them are:

– An Egyptian Pegaso truck equipped with a crane, with an imposing height of 3.45 metres and a weight of 10,000 kg.
– A GMC CCKW truck.
– A Jeep van whose model, because it is very popular, many will remember when they see it in the video.
– Various off-road vehicles characteristic of FECSA and ENHER, as well as several SEAT brand vehicles that transport us to another era.

Pre-preparation

Before starting transport, maintenance tasks were carried out to release brakes, inflate tires, check chassis and secure anchor points, ensuring safety during loading and transport.

Once all the checks had been carried out and the proposed checklist had been completed, the transport was organised according to dimensions, weights and conditions of use.

Transport of Egyptian Pegasus from the company FECSACargo Transportation

Large trucks, such as the Egyptian Pegasus, were moved in gondolas, loaded with crane and winch, planning routes and ensuring compliance with road and heritage safety measures.

Undoubtedly, both the load and the route were a challenge for the specific case of the Egyptian Pegasus. Due to its dimensions, it exceeded the maximum conventional measurements established in the General Vehicle Regulations, which led to special permits for its transport.

Once all the necessary permits were available, the transport of all the vehicles was carried out within a period of less than a week.

A project of historical value

This project represents a contribution to the preservation of the industrial and energy heritage of our country. The vehicles, some with historical FECSA and ENHER emblems, are material witnesses of the evolution of energy and industrial transport in Spain.

Invitation to the reader

We invite the public to closely follow the networks of the Endesa Foundation and the Mining Museum of Listening, where we will surely be able to be informed in a while about the future of this project, about the memory of our industrial past and about other projects that are underway.
