Where to communicate the change of residence in Spain
Son muchos los trámites que acompañan a una mudanza; dar de alta los suministros en el nuevo domicilio, tramitar el cambio de colegio de los niños, … Entre todos éstos, también tendremos que actualizar nuestra situación en el padrón municipal correspondiente y comunicar el cambio de residencia a efectos de los diferentes organismos de la Administración, como Agencia Tributaria, Seguridad Social, Tráfico, etc.
To communicate our change of residence to the different state bodies, the government of Spain makes available to the citizen the Change of Address Communication Portal. On this web portal we will be able to communicate the change of residence without having to go in person to each of them. The procedure is carried out through the SARA Network, which connects the networks of Spanish Public Administrations and European Institutions, thus facilitating the exchange of information between state and European bodies.
In order to communicate the change of address, it will be necessary to have an electronic ID card or, failing that, a digital certificate, in order to identify ourselves correctly. If you have an electronic ID card, but do not have a reader, we recommend the Sveon Sct022M reader that works with Windows and Mac. Not because it’s better or worse, simply because we’ve tested it and it works perfectly and intuitively. You can also do so with any other identification method that the State makes available to you.
For European citizens, there is also the possibility of identifying themselves with the electronic credentials of their own country.
