Transfer of testing machines and equipment for the Centre Català del Plàstic
The project for the comprehensive relocation of the Centre Català del Plàstic has included the transfer of heavy machines such as injectors and extruders, testing equipment and also material from its offices, including documentation and computer equipment.
Who are you?
The Centre Català del Plàstic is a public R+D centre of a consortium nature, made up of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya, the City Council of Terrassa and the most representative associations at national level in the industrial plastics sector.
Facts about the transfer
The transfer has been carried out from the Vapor Universitari de Terrassa building to the Diagonal-Besòs Campus of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, a building intended for research and teaching.
The work has been carried out by specialized personnel of our company in close collaboration and coordination with the promoter of the transfer, Voracys, and with all the specialist technicians necessary for the disassembly, assembly and calibration of each equipment.
The role of Voracys, a company specialising in construction projects and awarded the project to adapt the new spaces on the Diagonal-Besòs Campus, has been fundamental for the development of the transfer. Their work has allowed a perfect coordination of the different companies involved; installers, technicians, moving company, etc.
Reunion:
The transfer of the Centre Català del Plàstic has helped us to meet again with UPC technicians with whom we were already working for several months in 2016. That year we were in charge of moving the Industrial Technical School (EUETIB) from the emblematic building on Comte Urgell Street to the new Diagonal-Besòs Campus at the Escola d’Enginyeria Barcelona Est (EEBE).
The importance of Recycling:
In the words of Greenpeace: “Plastics have taken over the Earth”. Their growing production and use threaten to pollute every corner of the planet, especially the seas, the final destination of many of them, where they seriously harm the health of aquatic ecosystems and the survival of the species that populate them.
The Centre Català del Plàstic, through its activity, contributes to the recovery of plastics and promotes the use of recycled plastic materials in industrial applications and researches the recycling of plastics and their application in technological products with high added value, such as automotive parts and construction elements, all of which are made with recycled plastics.
At Mudanzas Control, in addition to self-imposing the management standards included under the ISO 14001 environmental standard, we are constantly looking for solutions to reduce the consumption of plastics in all our services. We currently prioritise the use of packaging with 100% recycled cardboard over the use of the well-known bubble wrap and shrink film. We also have reusable covers for the protection of seating and furniture, which has allowed us to reduce the consumption of plastics significantly in recent years.
